Method for determination of size and skewness of paper and cardboard

1. Subject content and scope of application This standard specifies the determination of paper and cardboard size and skewness. This standard is applicable to all kinds of flat paper, web paper and tray paper, but not to wrinkled paper. 2. 1 Flat paper size is measured by a steel tape measuring the length and width of flat paper with a precision of 1 mm and a length of 2 000 mm. Take out three pieces of paper from each packing unit and put them in

1 Subject Content and Scope of Application

This standard specifies the determination of the size and skewness of paper and cardboard.

This standard is applicable to all kinds of flat paper, web paper and tray paper, but not to wrinkled paper.

2. Measurement of size.

2.1 The size of sheet paper is measured by a steel tape measuring the length and width of sheet paper with a precision of 1 mm and a length of 2 000 mm.

Three samples were taken from each packaging unit for determination. The results were expressed by all the measured values and were accurate to 1 mm.

2.2 The reel paper only measures the width of the reel. The measurement results are expressed in millimeters and are accurate to 1 mm.

2.3 The size of the disc paper is to measure the width of the disc. The measurement results are expressed in millimeters and are accurate to 0.25 mm. Measure with vernier caliper with accuracy of 0.02mm.

3. Measurement of skewness

3.1 The skewness of sheet paper refers to the maximum deviation between the long edge (or short edge) of the sheet paper and the corresponding rectangular long edge (or short edge). The result is expressed in millimeters of deviation or percentage of deviation.

3.2 Three samples (six samples from cardboard) were extracted from each packaging unit for determination.

3.3 Test steps

3.3.1 Fold the sheet paper in long (or short) sides to coincide vertex A with D (or A and B). Then measure the distance between BC (or CD) points (Fig. 1). The measurement should be accurate to 1 mm.

3.3.2 If the sheet paper is thicker and not easy to fold, overlap the front and back sides of the two sheets of cardboard, so that the front points A and D coincide with the reverse points D "and A" respectively, and then measure the distance between BC"(or CB) points (Figure 2). The measurement should be accurate to 1 mm.

3.4 Test results

All measured values are used to represent the results of the determination, and the results are revised to an integer.
